There are twenty-two Bills that have been referred to the various Parliamentary Select Committees for consideration and report, to the Plenary for subsequent determination.
The Bills include the Ghana Cocoa Board (Amendment) Bill, 2017, Land Bill, 2018, Legal Profession (Amendment) Bill, 2018, Industrial Designs (Amendment) Bill, 2018, Patent (Amendment) Bill, 2018, Conduct of Public Officers Bill, 2018, Notaries Public (Amendment) Bill, 2018, Intestate Succession Bill, 2018, Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management Bill, 2018, among others.
Nine of the Bills have been referred to the Parliamentary Select Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs while seven have been referred to the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education.
Two of the Bills have also been submitted to the Parliamentary Select Committee on Finance while one has been referred to a joint committee of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Trade, Industry and Tourism.
The remaining three Bills have been referred to three different Parliamentary Select Committees.
The Land Bill, 2018 was referred to the Parliamentary Select Committee on Lands and Forestry while the Ghana Health Service and Teaching Hospitals (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was referred to the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health.
Again, the Narcotics Control Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was referred to the Parliamentary Select Committee on Interior and Defence.
Reports on the Vigilantism and Related Offences Bill, 2019 and the National Road Safety Authority Bill, 2019 have been presented at the Plenary and they are at the consideration stage.
