Parliament resumes for its Third Sitting

The Third Meeting of the Second Session of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic commences this week with presentation of papers, resolutions and motions, reading of business statements and consideration of bills.

Chairman of the Business Committee and Member of Parliament for Suame, Mr. Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu presented the report of the Committee to the Plenary for consideration and adoption in accordance with Order 160(2) of the Standing Orders of the House.

Three Ministers are expected to appear on the floor of Parliament to respond to ten questions during the week.

Questions

Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Asiamah is expected to answer one question from Member of Parliament for New Edubiase, Mr. George Boahen Oduro on the progress of work on the construction of the New Edubiase Sports Stadium.

Minister for Education, Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is also expected to answer four questions from some four Members of Parliament, Mr. Richard Mawuli Kwaku Quashiga of the Keta Constituency, Mr. John Frimpong Osei of the Abirem Constituency, Mr. Eric Afful of the Amenfi West Constituency and Mr. John Majisi of the Krachi Nchumuru Constituency.

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Kwasi Amoako-Attah on the other hand, is expected to answer five questions from Mr. Ras Mubarak of the Kumbungu Constituency, Ms. Naana Eyiah of the Gomoa Central Constituency, Dr. Bernice Adiku Heloo of the Hohoe Constituency, Mr. Albert Alalzuuga of the Garu Constituency and Mr. Yusif Sulemana of the Bole/Bamboi Constituency.

Statements

Pursuant to Order 70(2) of the Standing Orders of Parliament, Ministers of State will make statements of Government policy.
