In a letter of notice signed by the Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Aaron Oquaye, the 275 Members of Parliament at the various Constituencies have been summoned to resume from recess and start the Third Meeting from this month.

Prof. Oquaye’s call is grounded on Order 37(1) of the Standing Orders of Parliament which states, “there shall be a session of Parliament at least one in every year, except that a period of twelve months shall not intervene between the last sitting of Parliament in one session and the first sitting thereof in the next session”.

The various Standing and Select Committees with report referrals are expected to present their reports to the Plenary for consideration during the Third Sitting.

It is also expected that the Minister for Finance, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta will present the 2019 Budget Statement to the Plenary in November 2018.
