Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Mr. Bryan Acheampong, has stated that he is committed to providing financial support for the needy students in his constituency.
He indicated that financial assistance through the MPs Common Fund has been given to one hundred and ninety one (191) students in the Kwahu East District in the Eastern Region.
In an interview with ghanajustice.com, Mr. Acheampong explained that the package is meant to assist the students and also afford them the peace of mind to settle down in their respective institutions.
He indicated that he is committed to improving education at both basic, senior high and tertiary levels.
He reiterated that the best way to improve education in the area was to give students financial support and a peaceful atmosphere to study.
Mr. Acheampong is optimistic that the financial intervention will be sustained to relieve parents of excessive financial burden.
“More students will stand the chance of benefiting from the sponsorship in the coming years. The gesture is not only to give support to students but to also inspire them to work hard to achieve greater academic laurels”, he added.
Mr. Acheampong further pointed out that his quest for Kwahu development is paramount and education his one of his topmost priorities.
The beneficiaries of the sponsorship were drawn from various Senior High Schools, vocational, technical and tertiary institutions in communities within the district.
