An Accra High Court presided over by His Lordship, Samuel Asiedu, has adjourned the case against the Ghana Football Association(GFA), commenced by the Attorney General.
The adjournment was to give the Ghana Football Association(GFA) time to respond to the application filed by the Attorney General which they said they received last Friday.
The Deputy Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame said on the contrary that the application had been filed on 2nd June, 2018, while counsel for the defence, Mr. Abu Juan has insisted that they received the said application just last Friday.
The Attorney General, is in Court as part of government’s effort to clean up the Ghana Football Association, following the investigative documentary “Number 12”, of Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
In June, 2018, Miss Sophia Akuffo, the Attorney General, the petitioner and applicant, filed a petition at the Court, seeking the official winding up of the GFA and restricting its officers from exercising their powers conferred on them including disposing off assets, organisation of matches and appointment of officers. An Interim Restraining Order was issued against the GFA.
