Following the rising tension between the Minority Chief Whip, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka and the Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong over Anas’ exposé on football corruption, Mr. Muntaka has indicated that the substantial information he provided to the privileges committee will justify his allegations on the contempt issue he raised against the Assin Central MP.
According to the Minority Chief Whip and Asawase MP, he is convinced that his case was well addressed at the committee and looks forward to the necessary steps to be taken in delivering fair judgement.
Speaking in an interview with ghanajustice.com, Mr. Muntaka noted that he appeared before the privileges committee as a witness and substantiated all the issues he had raised against the Assin Central MP as constituting contempt.

He further revealed that he presented evidence in a form of audio-visuals before the committee for interrogation.
He further explained that “I have played my part as a witness. I was asked questions and I provided the committee with my answers. The committee will therefore have to determine the level of contempt”.
Mr. Muntaka again pointed out that the conduct of Mr. Kennedy Agyapong and his attacks on the Majority Leader would be looked into.
Meanwhile, the Privileges Committee is yet to officially invite Mr. Kennedy Agyapong to respond to the allegations made against him.
Why ken has been hauled before the privileges committee
In the early parts of this month, Mr. Kennedy Agyapong stated on Net2 TV that the cheap nature of Parliament led to the appointment of Osei-Kyei Mensah Bonus as the Majority Leader following the leader’s comments, describing Kennedy’s threats to Anas as unacceptable.
Member of Parliament for Asawase, Hon. Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka raised the issue on the floor of Parliament and requested the speaker to take necessary steps in addressing the issue.
Members of Parliament from both the minority and majority side condemned the conduct of the Assin Central MP.
The house, presided over by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Joseph Osei Owusu, referred the case to the Privileges Committee.
