Madam Sedina Christine Tamakloe Attionu, a former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre and one other, Daniel Axim have been granted bail.
This was after the Accused persons pleaded not guilty to 78 counts which include stealing, wilfully causing financial loss to the state, money laundering, causing loss to public property, contravention of the Pro and improper payment of public funds.
The former CEO who is the first Accused has been granted bail in the sum of GHC 5,000,000 with two sureties, whereas the second Accused has been granted bail in the sum of GHC 1,000,000 with one surety.
The Court presided over by Her Ladyship Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe has ruled that the sureties should be of good conduct, independent and sufficient means, and without any criminal record or involved in any criminal investigation.
The judge also ordered that the passports of the Accused persons be deposited at the court’s registry.
The Attorney General who was representing the state prayed the Court to amend an error in the numbering of the counts but the Court refused the application because it held the view that the error does not affect the substance of the affected counts.
The Court has ordered the Prosecution to file all necessary documents and disclosures by 15th February 2019.
Case management is set to be held on the 4th of March, 2019, in-camera.
