The Minority in Parliament has lamented that the security situation in the country has become very porous under the current administration.
The Minority indicated that ever since His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo became President of the country, the security situation in the country has worsen to the extent that Ghanaians are now living in perpetual fear.
In a press conference organised by the Minority in Parliament, the Spokesperson on Interior and Defence and Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Mr. James Agalga, stated that there had been series of killings in the country, which calls for concern.
Mr. Agalga explained that a noticeable trend about all the murders alluded to is that the assailants never stole any property belonging to the victims and that, reasonable minds ought to conclude that the killings recorded in recent times are contract killings.
He pointed out that the recent killing of an undercover investigator of Tiger Eye PI, Mr. Ahmed Hussein-Suale calls for serious concern for the current government.
He further disclose that, apart from the gruesome murder of Mr. Hussien-Suale, the Mankralo of Prampram, Nene Atsuare Benta III was also killed by unknown gunmen.
Mr. Agalga again cited another instance where a senior staff of the Ghana Water Company Limited, Mr. Joseph Migal Jinjerwas, while on his way to celebrate the New Year at his hometown in the Bunkpurugu District was murdered.
“Furthermore, the Marketing and Public Affairs Manager of the Ghana Ports and Habours Authority (GPHA) in charge of Tema Port, Mrs. Josephine Asante was stabbed to death at her residence in Tema, Community 25 on Saturday, January 12, 2019”, he added.
Mr. Agalga called for the investigations to ensure that all the perpetrators of the atrocious crimes are brought to justice.
In his concluding statement, Mr. Agalga called on President Akufo-Addo to put in measures, to stem the alarming incidents of contract killings and robberies in the country.
