Former Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Mr. Ernest Thompson, and four others have been charged with 29 criminal counts of causing financial loss to the state and defrauding by false pretenses.
The five Accused persons, Mr. Ernest Thompson, Mr. Caleb Kwaku Afaglo, former Head of the SSNIT Management Information System, Mr. John Hagan Mensah, SSNIT IT Infrastructure Manager, Ms. Juliet Hasana Kramah, Managing Proprietoress of Perfect Business Systems and Peter Hayibor, a lawyer at SSNIT are before the Criminal Division of the High Court in relation to the award of a $72million Operating Business Suite (OBS) contract which is said to have been fraudulent.
The Accused persons have pleaded not guilty to all the charges levelled against them.
Counsel for the Accused persons took turns to apply for bail for their clients with no opposition from the Prosecution.
The Court presided over by His Lordship Justice Henry Kwofi granted the accused persons self recognisance bail.
The case has been adjourned to 17th October, 2018.
