An Accra Circuit Court presided over by Her Honour, Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin- Doku has sentenced 25-year old Pastor, Wisdom Kusorgbor to 24 months imprisonment for sexually assaulting a three- year old girl.
The facts of the case as presented by the judge before the judgment are that complainant is the mother of the three-year-old girl.
The Accused stays at Korle-Gonno but got to know the victim through his mother who lives in the same compound house with the Complainant.
She narrated that whenever the Accused visited his mother, he gave his mobile phone to the victim to watch cartoons.
The judge narrated that on December 28, 2016, Pastor Kusorgbor visited his mother, but did not meet her at home.
“Pastor Kusorgbor carried the three-year-old child to his mother’s room to watch cartoons on his phone. While she was watching the cartoons, he inserted his finger and used his penis to brush her vagina but did not penetrate,’’ the judge said.
According to the judge, the girl later informed her mother about her ordeal at the hands of the Accused.
The mother of the victim then lodged a complaint at the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service at Mamprobi. The Accused was later arrested.
Her Honour, Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin- Doku said that in sentencing, she took into consideration, the Accused’s age and her expectation of how a pastor should behave.
