The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Ms. Gloria Akuffo has informed Parliament that the Ministry is not the implementing agency for the judgment from the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) between Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire.
Her response followed a question asked by the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Mr. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, on the floor of House. The MP asked the Minister what specific steps were being taken to ensure that an acceptable maritime map was drawn following the recent judgment from the ITLOS between Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire.
In September 2017, the ITLOS delivered a judgment in favour of Ghana in a three-year-long maritime dispute between the two countries.
