An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced one Raymond Agbezuge, a 33-year old security man at a basic school to nine years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling an 11 year old girl (name withheld) who attends the same school.
The Accused person was convicted on his own plea.
The Prosecutor in reading the brief facts stated that the Complainant resides at Adenta. She is a hairdresser and the mother of the victim.
The Prosecutor stated that in August 2017, the victim fell sick and was taken to the Sandford Clinic. Â The victim told the Complainant that the Accused lured her to her school and had sexual intercourse with her.
According to the Prosecutor, the Accused gave the victim an amount of 50 pesewas to buy biscuit after defiling her.
“On 15th August, 2017, a report was made to the Police, and a medical form was issued to the Complainant, for the victim to be taken to any government hospital to be examined”, the Prosecutor said.
Before his sentencing, the Accused prayed the court to tamper justice with mercy.
