Henry Allotey, a 56-year old football coach, has been arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court for indecently assaulting an 11 year-old.
The Complainant is the auntie of the victim. The Complainant and the victim reside in the same vicinity at Dansoman, Zone 6.
On the 7th of January 2017, at about 9:30am, the Complainant caught the victim in bed with her younger cousin, inserting his fingers into her vagina.
When the Complainant asked the victim who taught her the act, she said it was the Accused who had been inserting his fingers into her vagina each time she visited him for the past 5 years, and that the last episode was on 14th November, 2017.
A Complaint was made at the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit in Dansoman and a police medical form was issued for the Victim to undergo medical examination at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. The Accused was subsequently arrested.
The Accused was granted bail in the sum of 25,000 Ghana cedis, with two sureties. One of the sureties is to be a public or civil servant earning not less than 1000 Ghana cedis a month.
The case has been adjourned to 20th November, 2017
