Nii Kotey Susubribi I alias Kotey Nii Quaye has been arraigned before an Accra Circuit Court on the counts of threat of death and fraudulent transaction.
Mr. Alfred Abosu who is the 1st complainant, is a business man resident at Achimota and Mr. Freeman Kofi Owusu who is the 2nd complainant is also a business man resident at New Achimota.
The accused, Nii Kotey Susubribi I, is a business man and also claims to be a traditional ruler resident at Abehenease, near Amasaman.
In the year 2003, Alfred Abosu acquired 1.869 acre of land situated at Abehenease from Amah Asor family, then lawfully presented by the accused person’s late brother, Kotey Nii Kwei.
Alfred Abosu subsequently obtained a land title certificate number GA 22047, dated 30th December 2005, covering the land.
Alfred Abosu further put up a two- single room building on a portion of the land and same occupied by his caretaker, Korsi Tondey.
Mr. Abosu has been in an undisturbed possession of the land until 21st February, 2015, when the accused person prevented him from further developing the land.
The accused has continuously interfered with Mr. Abosu’s peaceful enjoyment of the property, claiming ownership of same.
During the month of March, 2015, the accused person and his group of thugs consistently threatened the caretaker, Korsi Tondey, to vacate the land or face death. The caretaker for fear of his life packed his belongings and left the land.
The accused person then fraudulently sold portions of the land to unsuspecting persons including the 2nd complainant, Freeman Kofi Owusu, who bought his portion for 42,000 Ghana cedis.
A search obtained from the Land Registration Division of the Lands Commission, Accra, confirmed Alfred Abosu’s title to the land.
The accused has been granted 70,000 cedis bail with 2 Sureties who are gainfully employed. The case has been adjourned to the 27th of November, 2017.
